10 Houston Area Historical Wedding Venues

Living in the Houston area, we are steeped in history.  Our city dates back to 1837 and was temporarily the capital of the Republic of Texas.  With plenty of history, there is plenty of opportunity for historical restoration and wedding venues that come out of that.

Whether it is a historic farm, a downtown location or even a coastal chapel, this list of 10 Houston wedding venues runs the gamut of Texas history.  Having a wedding ceremony or reception in a place that has historical significance or even a preserved structure is a great way to stay connected to what has come before you.

With this list, we did keep in mind several aspects.  We looked for guest count, starting venue price if available, proximity to downtown Houston, and what history is offered by each venue. We also included the star ratings we found from several different sources.
